Nigeria: Dangote,100 Drivers Recruitment.6 Ph.D, 704 Masters holders Amongst The List

In what can be said to be the highest show of the level of unemployment in the country, the recent advert placed by the Wealthiest Billionaire in Africa; Aliko Dangote saw 13,000 people who applied for 100 vacant post for Drivers needed. Of the 13,000 applicants, there were six Ph.D, 704 Masters and over 8,460 Bachelor degree holders. These numbers shows the abysmal rate of unemployment in the country. Though it is commendable that the Dangote Group has set up a program to employ youths but is there a structure in place? Are they entitled to health benefits? Is it not possible he tests those with masters and employ them for better Jobs? Personally, I admire Dangote but what is his partnership with Indians. I served in Savannah Numan in Adamawa state and sometimes life at the Indians cos of a truth, must of them are not as good as we the Youth Corpers. As they would normally say, which way Naija!
Also last week, I learnt that thousands of young graduates staged protests at the Ministry of Interior in Abuja when officials denied them access to submit application forms. The ministry has since claimed that no employment was on-going.
Wherever rumour of employment is circulated, thousands of duly qualified candidates turn up to participate.

MultiChoice to pay Musical Copyright N5.2 Billion

The Federal High Court, Lagos, presided over by Honourable Justice M. Idris on Monday, October 8, 2012, dismissed the preliminary objection filed by Multichoice Nigeria Limited against the N5.2 Billion counter-claim brought against it by the Musical Copyright Society Nigeria (MCSN) for the illegal use of its works from 2006 till date. The stage is thus set for trial on November 1, 2012.
Multichoice had earlier filed a writ of summons in Suit No. FHC/L/CS/1091/11 against MCSN, praying the court to grant a perpetual injunction stopping MCSN from asking or demanding from Multichoice to obtain copyright licence for the broadcast and communication to the public of musical works on the radio and television channels operated and distributed by Multichoice within Nigeria because MCSN was not licensed or approved by the Nigerian Copyright Commission as a collecting society.  MCSN had then filed a counterclaim of N5.2 billion for the infringement of its copyright by Multichoice Nigeria from 2006 till date.

Patience Jonathan Returns Today....

Mrs Patience Jonathan

If what Sahara Reporters says is true, then Mrs Goodluck Jonathan, First lady of Nigeria would be back in the country after six weeks of (really don't know what)
The story first was she was poisoned to she went for and an operation to she has Parkinson disease... hmm
The report said a presidential jet was scheduled to fly out of Abuja on Wednesday night to bring   back President Goodluck Jonathan’s wife  home.
Saharareporters quoted presidency sources on Wednesday  as saying that the wife of the President would return to the country early today  barring any unexpected developments,.
According to the report, Patience  was flown overseas  nearly six weeks ago after developing complications from a cosmetic procedure she had undertaken in Dubai.
It  further  said that upon returning to Nigeria from Dubai, the President’s wife was  allegedly flown  to Germany in an air ambulance following an emergency which was  allegedly  diagnosed  her with  “food poisoning”.
SaharaReporters said its investiigation  revealed that her  condition was more complicated and precarious.  Among others, in the early stages she lost her power of speech for four days.
Her spokesman, Ayo Osinlu, had earlier told journalists that the President’s wife was only resting abroad after the stress of hosting African First Ladies recently.
Jonathan on Saturday visited his wife in Germany in company with two of their children.
The visit was aired on the Nigerian Television Authority on Sunday evening.
In the short footage, Patience was seen to be in high spirit as she took photographs with the children as well as her husband and members of his delegation.

All I can say is that All is well.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will address the nation at 7 am tomorrow.

The Nigerian president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will address the nation tomorrow, Tuesday at 7am.
A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, says the address will be aired live at 7 a.m. on the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
This will be the second time he will be addressing the nation in two weeks.

The announcement is coming as a surprise to many considering that the President addressed the nation on Nigeria’s Independence Day on October 01, 2012.

Though the statement did not give any hint on the content of Mr. Jonathan’s broadcast, it was revealed  that the President will address the Nation on the contentious and highly charged Bakassi issue.

Nigeria has till the October 10, 2012, to appeal the judgement of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that ceded Bakassi to Cameroun.
