A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, says the address will be aired live at 7 a.m. on the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
This will be the second time he will be addressing the nation in two weeks.
The announcement is coming as a surprise to many considering that the President addressed the nation on Nigeria’s Independence Day on October 01, 2012.
Though the statement did not give any hint on the content of Mr. Jonathan’s broadcast, it was revealed that the President will address the Nation on the contentious and highly charged Bakassi issue.
Nigeria has till the October 10, 2012, to appeal the judgement of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that ceded Bakassi to Cameroun.
